Production Supervisor Needed in Ventura
Industry: Electronics Manufacturing and Production
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm with frequent overtime on Fridays.
Pay Range: $28 - $30/hour DOE
Note: This is a working supervisor position so you must have experience as an assembler as well.
Summary:
Under minimal supervision using independent judgment and decision-making, supervises a team of electromechanical assemblers and testers to meet Company goals in the areas of quality, on-time delivery and cost. Is a key member of the manufacturing team who may lead kaizen events in support of continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing. This is a generic job description applicable to all product lines.
Typical Responsibilities:
* Monitors production schedules, material and human resources
* Conducts kaizen events toward the goal of continuous process improvement
* Identifies and solves operational problems
* Determines workforce requirements to meet production schedules
* Creates and maintains reports and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, quality and on-time delivery
* Sets and enforces high standards of safety
* Hires, trains, evaluates and directs employees
* Makes recommendations regarding materials, equipment and processes
Supervision: Supervises teams of assemblers, adjusters and test technicians
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
* Four-year degree in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering or related field preferred but not required
* At least two years of trade school with an emphasis in mechanical design or electronic technology or more than five years of relevant experience
* At least five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably in an electromechanical environment for the aerospace/defense industry
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Physical Requirements:
* Able to read documents and computer screens
* Able to move around an office building and up stairs
* Able to sit/stand for long periods of time
* Able to type on a computer keyboard
* Able to communicate through a telephone
* Able to communicate with co-workers
